Moms are fueled by coffee and the love we get from our children. We are raising our little ones to have a positive impact on the world. As a mom, you want to teach your child to be caring, kind and about living Earth Friendly.
In our household we try to emphasize different ways to care for the Earth. One way is by recycling. My daughter loves to sort out the cans from the bottles and place them in separate recycling bins. Another way we stay green is through gardening. We grow our own herbs and spices and have multiple flower beds.
Another passion I have is my love for coffee! Starbucks brand is always a family favorite. My favorite type of coffee is one that I can actually drink while it’s hot. I love the days where we go out in the backyard as the sun rises and I can enjoy my coffee while my little one plays around.
One of my favorite memories that always makes me crack up with Stella is from when she was two years old. She was waking up between 5:30-6 am every morning. On a Saturday she was up before the sun and ready to play! I walked into her room half asleep and said “Mama is Tired” and she replied “ok, drink your coffee.” She just gets me!
Starbucks also has a great initiative going on right now called One Tree One Bag.
For every bag of Starbucks® 10-12z & 20z Ground or Whole Bean coffee purchased at participating Albertsons Company stores in the U.S. from May 1st through May 28, Starbucks provides one disease-resistant coffee tree to a farmer in Mexico, Guatemala or El Salvador.
Starbucks® will donate 70¢ to Conservation International for every bag of coffee sold at participating Albertsons Company stores in the U.S. from May 1st through May 28 to foster thriving coffee communities.

I came up with a fun, Earth friendly craft that incorporates one of my favorite things: Coffee!
We made Coffee Succulent Vases and they turned out so cute. And the aroma from the coffee is amazing!
These are the materials you will need to make one of your own. We got our Starbucks® Pike Place® Roast coffee from Albertson’s. They have a huge selection and I was able to find exactly what I wanted.
Check out the special Starbucks “One Tree One Bag” commitment display in the coffee aisle!
Starbucks® Pike Place Roast (Ground and whole beans)
A succulent plant
Coconut Plant Liner
Small Vase or Cup
I couldn’t find a vase I liked so I just used a rocks glass and it turned out great.
First step is to cut the coco liner to the size of the bottom of your vase.
Next, add a soil and ground coffee mixture.
Now you add your succulent in the soil/coffee grounds.
Last you surround the soil and succulent with whole coffee beans.
And voila! You have a cute little Earth friendly succulent vase. We placed ours in the kitchen window and the smell of the coffee is so enticing.
